After years of living with Tourette’s, anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD, I’ve learned one undeniable truth: while these diagnoses are a part of my life, they do not define who I am. That belief is at the heart of my new book, They Don’t Define Me: The Story of a Lifelong Battle with Mental Illness and How to Rise Above Your Diagnosis.
This book is deeply personal. It’s my story of struggle, survival, and self-discovery. From my earliest experiences with tics in childhood to navigating the complexities of adulthood, I’ve faced countless battles—but I’ve also learned how to fight back, cope, and find light in the darkest moments.
Writing this book has been as much a journey of healing as it has been an effort to connect with others. My hope is that They Don’t Define Me will resonate with those who are struggling and remind them that they are not alone. It’s also for families, friends, and anyone who wants to better understand the daily realities of living with mental illness.
As I release this book into the world, I feel a mix of vulnerability and excitement. This is my story, but it’s also a story for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed by their challenges. Because no matter what you’re facing, you are more than your diagnosis—you are resilient, capable, and worthy of a fulfilling life.
